<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At Huurre, we continue to make progress in offering our customers the highest guarantees of quality and regulatory compliance.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As a result, <strong>we now hold the fire performance certificate in accordance with the AVCP 1 system for CE marking</strong>, one of the most stringent certifications required by European regulations.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Currently, <strong>all PIR, PIRM and QuadCore panels hold this certification</strong>, which confirms that their performance has been assessed and verified through an independent process subject to continuous monitoring by a third-party body.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From now on, this certification is included in our technical data sheets alongside a brief explanation of its scope and implications.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Furthermore, this achievement represents a significant milestone for us, as it positions us as the first in our market to obtain this certification, consolidating a clear competitive advantage over other manufacturers in the sector.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Safety, quality and reliability are fundamental aspects of the construction sector. To ensure that products entering the European market meet verified performance standards that remain consistent over time, the regulations establish the so-called internationally AVCP (Assessment and Verification of Constancy of Performance).</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">These systems form part of the regulatory framework set out in Regulations (EU) No 305/2011 and (EU) No 2024/3110 on Construction Products (CPR) and define the responsibilities of both the manufacturer and the notified bodies during the CE marking process.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">2.Wind resistance: Simulation of extreme suction and wind pressure to verify the fastening and stability of the system. They evaluate:</p>

<li>&#8211; There must be no detachment, fracture, or deformation of any component.</li>

<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li>&#8211; There must be no separation, permanent deformation, detachment, or fracture within the panel cover assembly.<br><br></li>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">3.Foot traffic resistance. They evaluate:</p>

<li>&#8211; No perforation of the panel ceiling.</li>



<li>&#8211; No separation or detachment of the side overlaps.<br><br></li>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">4.Hail impact: Resist the effects of hail. During this test, the coating is evaluated for signs of punctures, chips, flaking, blisters, cracks, or fissures.<br><br></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">5.Manufacturing audits: FM Approvals periodically audits factories to confirm that the same level of quality as in the initial tests is maintained.<br></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-large-font-size"><strong><strong>What&nbsp;does&nbsp;EI 120 mean?</strong></strong><em>&nbsp;</em></h2>



<p class="has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph">EI 120 is a classification that indicates that a building element offers fire resistance for 120 minutes, meeting two key criteria:<br><br>-E (Integrity): the panel maintains its structure without allowing flames or hot gases to pass through for 120 minutes.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph">-I (Insulation): it limits heat transmission, preventing the temperature on the unexposed side from exceeding the established limits. The average temperature must not exceed +140°C. At no point must it exceed +180°C during the entire 120-minute period.&nbsp;<br><br><br></p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-large-font-size"><strong>Results that exceed the standard</strong></h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Although the official certification is EI 120, the test results are even more impressive.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If we analyse the exact result of the test passed, we see that the system achieved 136 minutes for thermal insulation (I) and 245 minutes for structural integrity (E). <p class="wp-block-paragraph">The building stands between 9 and 10 metres tall, with its façade featuring HI-PIR STM panels manufactured by Huurre.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The fire originated in the electrical box located within the office area of the warehouse. When the employee who noticed the smoke opened the door, airflow entered, intensifying the situation. The hot, dark smoke quickly descended and spread through the wood and polycarbonate of the office, making it impossible to extinguish it manually.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Over 50% of the roof skylights melted, indicating that temperatures exceeded 300ºC. Despite the intense heat, the warehouse&#8217;s metal structure remained intact, and neither the façade nor the roof panels collapsed.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading has-larger-font-size">Insulation and thermal performance with the sandwich panel with fire resistance EI 90, HI-QUADCORE 2.0 FK DUAL</h2>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The <a href="https://www.huurreiberica.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/Huurre-hi-quadcore-2.0-fk-dual-data-sheet-en.pdf">HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK DUAL</a> sandwich panel with EI 90 fire resistance combines cutting-edge organic insulation, optimising thermal efficiency, with a lambda conductivity of just 0.019 W/mK. This panel provides compartmentalisation for buildings, achieving a rating of up to 90 minutes of insulation and integrity (EI 90) for panel thicknesses of 200 mm, without the need for additional silicone on the joint between panels, which facilitates installation and improves the overall performance of the system.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In addition, the design of the longitudinal joint has been improved on the basis of its predecessor, the HI-F cold storage panel, which enhances its long-term performance and efficiency.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the greatest challenges in modern construction is reducing CO2 emissions. Huurre emphasises that the building stock contributes to CO2 emissions in a similar way to the automotive industry, in both the residential and industrial sectors. <p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Fire resistance</strong>, achieving EI-90 resistance (for 200 mm thick panel or more), EI-60 (150 mm panel or more) and EI-30 (80 mm panel or more), certified by tests according to EN 13501-2:2016 (see assembly conditions).</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Thermal efficiency: </strong>The QuadCore 2.0 microcell insulation core provides high thermal performance, with a thermal conductivity of only 0.019 W/m.K (aged core considered).</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Mechanical resistance performance: </strong>The panel is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, providing versatility for various settings.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>High durability: </strong>The QuadCore 2.0 core is moisture-resistant, ensuring long-lasting performance and protecting both the panel and the building structure from damage.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The training, focused on technical rigour and the extensive know-how of Huurre&#8217;s team in the field, was given by Elisenda Pagès (Huurre COO), Alexandra Barrio (Huurre Technical Manager) and Antonio Galán (Kingspan Public Affairs).</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Construtec 2022 fair, held at Ifema (Madrid) from November 15 to 18, focused on the entire building lifecycle, aiming to serve the European construction sector by adding value to society and promoting comfortable, sustainable, safe, and healthy living environments.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">At the fair, Huurre introduced its new range of sandwich panels featuring the high-performance QuadCore insulating core. The demonstration, using two robotic arms, generated a lot of buzz among attendees, showcasing the QuadCore&#8217;s fire resistance. When exposed to direct flame, the core&#8217;s surface carbonizes and forms a protective intumescent layer, preventing the fire from penetrating deeper into the core.</p>
