A historic achievement: our HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK DUAL panel breaks the ceiling of fire resistance certificates for organic cores, achieving an EI 120 rating for a thickness of 230 mm.

What does EI 120 mean? 

EI 120 is a classification that indicates that a building element offers fire resistance for 120 minutes, meeting two key criteria:

-E (Integrity): the panel maintains its structure without allowing flames or hot gases to pass through for 120 minutes.

-I (Insulation): it limits heat transmission, preventing the temperature on the unexposed side from exceeding the established limits. The average temperature must not exceed +140°C. At no point must it exceed +180°C during the entire 120-minute period. 

Results that exceed the standard

Although the official certification is EI 120, the test results are even more impressive.

If we analyse the exact result of the test passed, we see that the system achieved 136 minutes for thermal insulation (I) and 245 minutes for structural integrity (E). This information is reflected very concisely and transparently in the technical data sheet.

And what does this mean for the HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK Dual panel range?   

This solution provides high-level compartmentation for not only agri-food constructions but also for any industrial application. It prevents the spread of fire, maintaining its structural integrity and controlling the temperature on the unexposed side, and provides greater protection for people and materials for two uninterrupted hours.

HI-QuadCore 2.0 XT is a sandwich roof panel with an organic insulating core, specially developed to meet the most stringent market demands in terms of both thermal performance and fire behaviour.

Fire performance: REI 60 fire resistance of the HI-QuadCore 2.0 XT DUAL panel.

The Dual version of this panel, presented as HI-QuadCore 2.0 XT DUAL, has been tested and classified with a fire resistance rating of REI 60 at a thickness of 120 mm, which guarantees structural fire resistance for 60 minutes, maintaining integrity, load-bearing capacity and thermal insulation in the event of a fire. This feature makes it an ideal solution for industrial, logistic and high occupancy environments, where safety is a priority.

Thermal insulation and energy efficiency for roofs

Thanks to its high-performance organic core, the XT panel with QuadCore core provides a good thermal performance, contributing significantly to improving building energy efficiency and reducing the demand for air conditioning. Insulation and thermal performance with the sandwich panel with fire resistance EI 90, HI-QUADCORE 2.0 FK DUAL

The HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK DUAL sandwich panel with EI 90 fire resistance combines cutting-edge organic insulation, optimising thermal efficiency, with a lambda conductivity of just 0.019 W/mK. This panel provides compartmentalisation for buildings, achieving a rating of up to 90 minutes of insulation and integrity (EI 90) for panel thicknesses of 200 mm, without the need for additional silicone on the joint between panels, which facilitates installation and improves the overall performance of the system.

In addition, the design of the longitudinal joint has been improved on the basis of its predecessor, the HI-F cold storage panel, which enhances its long-term performance and efficiency.

Commitment to the environment

One of the greatest challenges in modern construction is reducing CO2 emissions. Huurre emphasises that the building stock contributes to CO2 emissions in a similar way to the automotive industry, in both the residential and industrial sectors. The HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK DUAL panel is manufactured in such a way that both the steel and its metallic and organic coatings are free from SVHCs (‘Substances of Very High Concern’), in accordance with the requirements of the European REACH regulation.

Huurre has launched its new HI-QuadCore 2.0 FK DUAL refrigerated panels, featuring EI-90 fire resistance. These panels are ideal for fire-separating applications in high-insulation environments such as the agri-food industry, cold storage facilities, laboratories, and clean rooms.

Manufactured with four possible finishes and several highly durable coating options, the panel incorporates a new FK joint that improves performance and simplifies installation.

Fire resistance, achieving EI-90 resistance (for 200 mm thick panel or more), EI-60 (150 mm panel or more) and EI-30 (80 mm panel or more), certified by tests according to EN 13501-2:2016 (see assembly conditions).

Thermal efficiency: The QuadCore 2.0 microcell insulation core provides high thermal performance, with a thermal conductivity of only 0.019 W/m.K (aged core considered).

Mechanical resistance performance: The panel is designed for both indoor and outdoor applications, providing versatility for various settings.

High durability: The QuadCore 2.0 core is moisture-resistant, ensuring long-lasting performance and protecting both the panel and the building structure from damage.
