At Sika and Huurre, we’re raising the bar for safety and efficiency with the improved UniqDeck® system

We are proud to share a major step forward in our collaboration through the enhancement of the UniqDeck® construction system, reinforcing key features such as its fire performance. This comprehensive flat roof solution has received the prestigious Broof (t1) classification—a recognition that validates its strong performance against external fire exposure under rigorously evaluated conditions.

Why is the Broof (t1) classification so important?

The Broof (t1) test is one of the most relevant fire protection standards in Europe regarding external fire exposure. It evaluates the behavior of the entire system—not just individual components—taking into account waterproofing, thermal insulation, structure, and fixing elements. With this certification, UniqDeck® is validated as a system that, in the event of a fire, does not contribute to flame spread, providing added peace of mind and safety for owners, designers, and end users.

Our integrated solution for more efficient and safer roofing

UniqDeck® combines the best of our technologies: Sika’s advanced Sarnafil® FPO waterproofing and Huurre Ibérica’s HI-QuadCore F insulating panel. This combination brings multiple advantages:

  • Superior thermal insulation: The HI-QuadCore F panel offers outstanding thermal performance with low thermal conductivity (λ = 0.019 W/mK), significantly reducing your building’s energy demand.
  • High waterproofing performance: The system allows both mechanically fastened and adhered installation methods, ensuring effective resistance to water infiltration.
  • Durability: Its robust structure withstands extreme weather conditions and foot traffic without compromising the system’s integrity.
  • Solar-ready: UniqDeck® is compatible with solar roofing systems, supporting more energy-efficient and environmentally responsible buildings.

Committed to safety and the environment

Miguel Comas, our Chief Commercial Officer at Huurre Ibérica, highlights:
“The grey microcells in the QuadCore® insulation core offer greater fire protection than other insulants in our range, making UniqDeck® an optimal solution for fire prevention. By integrating this technology into the system, we enhance both energy efficiency and fire protection—two critical needs in today’s construction landscape.”

Borja Jiménez, Market Developer Manager for Data Centers, Retail, Logistics and Warehouses at Sika, adds:
“With solutions like UniqDeck®, we contribute to significantly reducing energy consumption and environmental impact, while meeting current regulatory demands on fire performance—as demonstrated by our Broof (t1) certification.”

At Sika and Huurre, we continue to innovate together, setting new standards for efficient, long-lasting flat roofing systems. This achievement not only strengthens our alignment with market demands, but also paves the way for a safer and more responsible future in construction.
