Huurre Panels and QuadCore® Technology in the World’s First Passivhaus Plus Logistics Center

Zaragoza is home to a groundbreaking project: the world’s first logistics center designed to achieve the Passivhaus Plus certification—a bold commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability. Driven by Novaltia Sociedad Cooperativa and designed by Ergo Synergys, this project marks a milestone in the shift toward more responsible logistics, with Huurre sandwich panels playing a key role.

With more than 18,000 m², this fully robotized facility will integrate renewable energy sources (photovoltaic and hydrogen) and undergo large-scale airtightness testing—something never before attempted in a logistics installation of this size.

QuadCore® Technology: Precision, Insulation, and Airtightness

To ensure high thermal performance and strict control of air infiltration, the project incorporated AWP façade sandwich panels and flat roof solutions with Huurre panels featuring QuadCore® insulation technology. These advanced solutions:

  • Provide superior thermal insulation compared to other Huurre insulations, helping reduce the building’s energy demand.
  • Enable the creation of an airtight envelope, with certified air and water tightness testing at the façade panel joint—a key requirement for passing the Blower Door Test needed for Passivhaus Plus certification.
  • Help create a stable, comfortable, and energy-efficient indoor environment all year round.
